Wow, this post should be really long since I haven't posted since AUGUST!!!!! My last post was about my first week working at Cane's, and as you can imagine, I've been busy since then, working and going to school. I never made a post or openly discussed my progress for my first semester at ASU. I think I'll start this post with that. First, let me explain why I chose the song above. Today is Christmas, and this is one of my favorite songs. "I love those J-I-N-G-L-E Bells"!!!!!

AHHHHHHHHH!!!!! Wait a damn minute! It's not Christmas. So apparently I started to write this during Christmas last year and I forgot about it, oops. It's been 8 months since then lol. I inserted a new song to match my mood now because I'm a new Ale. I chose the song "For Crying Out Loud" by FINNEAS. This song came out a few weeks ago and it's my favorite song as of right now. Anyways I'm going to try my best to summarize an entire year from memory. Here I go!
AUGUST 2023
I started college this month on the 17th of August. I had three classes that very first day. It was a Thursday meaning I had no school on Friday the next day and it felt kind of funny starting my first day and not going again the next day. This month was easy as I was just adjusting to my new school and work schedule. I think I mainly worked Friday and Saturday of this month. Schoolwork was light and simple. Ohhh... I also turned 18 this year, but I don't feel different. We went to The Cheesecake Factory for Senia's and mine's birthday dinner. A week after I started school I had a catch-up with one of my friends from high school. Her name is Mia. I met with her on a Friday, which meant I went to campus when I didn't have class. After we had our coffee and walked around the gym we went our separate ways and I went on the bus shuttle to visit my friend Emma who goes to the Tempe campus. The rest of the month went by pretty smoothly as I slowly adjusted to college life and work life.
SEPTEMBER 2023
On the first day of September, we had a family dinner at Yesenia's. We made a spicy green spaghetti pasta with fried chicken. It didn't really come out how we wanted, but I had fun hanging out with everyone. This month was also the month that Olivia Rodrigo released her album GUTS. I instantly became obsessed with it and Maribel and I talked about going to her concert, but we didn't get picked for presale so we never got tickets. I also started working more and I think I had my first-ever closing shift this month and started training in kitchen. I'm looking through my calendar app and my snap memories to get the most accurate story for each month. School was also chill since it was only my first semester.
OCTOBER 2023
Man, this is hard to write because there is so much to remember. Sooooooo.......during October I watched the Eras Tour Movie with my mom at AMC theater. I remember I had to drop one of my shifts so I could go watch the movie and I asked one of my co-workers to cover for me while I was heading to the Art Museum with Mom and Denise. I had to go to the museum because for one of my classes I had to look at 3 artworks and write an essay describing and analyzing them. Before that, I watched a play and I think after that I went to a symphony and I watched the movie Priscilla in the movie theaters with Mom. This month is when I started to get more schoolwork and had to learn more about managing my time. I still procrastinated a lot, but I ended up still getting my work done. Oh!!!! This month of course was spooky month!!!!! We decorated the house as per usual and my Tia even came over and so did Senia. We had a little party because we were eating pizza, watching hocus pocus, giving out candy, and eating candy, and me and Maribel walked to the farm near us and looked at their pumpkin patch. I really liked this month mainly because I felt like an adult. I was going to school and working AND driving myself there. It was also nice that I didn't work on Halloween. Oh, and I think Denise actually dropped me off at school on Halloween because she wanted Burger King. They had a new burger for the holiday. She brought me some when I had a break between classes and then she came back to pick me up. I remember we went to QT to get Hot Cheetos with cheese, but they didn't have any cheese. When we came home we saw tricker-treaters walking around and my mom was by herself outside waiting for the kids. It was so sad. We quickly went with her and I got the speaker to play our Halloween playlist. It was a lot of fun. I miss that day.
NOVEMBER 2023
I'm getting tired of writing so I'm gonna take a break and continue tomorrow, see you in one sentence. I'm back! This month is Thanksgiving and we got Twenty his Christmas hat and mistletoe collar. He looks so cute with it on. For Thanksgiving, we spent it at home and we tried putting our turkey in a bag to marinate it while it cooked in the oven. We went to Fry's to get our supplies and also to look for rosemary or thyme, I don't remember. Either way, we couldn't find any. So, we used the rosemary that my dad grew outside in the front yard. We had some in the backyard, but it died. I don't think Senia spent this Thanksgiving with us, which is sad. I don't remember much from this month, but I'm pretty sure I was just working, doing school, and celebrating my dad's 48th birthday. OHHHHH...and baby Jamine was born!!!!
DECEMBER 2023
The last day of my first semester was the 7th, and I took my College Algebra final. I think I got a 100%. For the rest of the month, I just worked...SOOOOOOO!!!!! You can't tell, but I am writing this sentence a year and 5 months after starting this blog post (05/14/2025). I know you, Denise, want me to keep writing blog posts, but it is clearly hard for me to remember to do them. This is my third time trying to write this in the span of 2 years! That's insane! Anyways, my goal tonight is to finish and post this so you have something to read when you get home from work or when you wake up in the morning. I am pretty sure you mentioned to me today (05/14/2025) that you were still waiting for another post, so here I am. The remainder of this month obviously was me celebrating Christmas and New Year's Eve with the fam!
Okay, I usually do a little debrief after I insert a song, so this is what that is. I have inserted a new song because this is a whole new post within a post since future future me is writing this compared to the last 2 Ale's. I have chosen the song "Back to Friends" by the artist Sombr. I have recently discovered this artist on Spotify through the random song suggestions it gives. I soon started to get TikTok videos related to him, the more often I started to listen to him. I actually really like his songs and have even mentioned to Maribel about us going to his concert this Halloween. I also want to clarify that I do like making these blog posts. I sort of made it sound like it's a burden earlier, but I just meant that I get busy and I don't have time to make them or have the energy to make them. But, now that I'm on Summer break, I have lots of time and would like to keep my future me up to date with my young life.
JANUARY 2024
On New Year's Day, Mom, Dad, Denise, and I went to Olive Garden for dinner, and we walked around West Gate and watched people skate on the ice rink they put there during the Winter. It was actually a pretty cute night. Unrelated, I would also like to mention that I had made a deal with myself at the time that I would get my driver's license before I went back to school, so I had scheduled a day to take my road test, and Mom, Denise, and I headed over to the MVD on I think 51st and McDowell, idk? It was raining really heavily that day, and we had to reschedule my test for another day. So, instead of just wasting the day, we went to eat breakfast since we left early in the morning. We went to this cute place downtown, I don't remember what it was called, but I know that it was near the Dignity Health hospital. Okay, fast forwarding a bit to a few days later, I went back to take my road test, this time just me and my dad in Denise's car, which I was still using at the time. I had gotten as far as waiting in the car for an instructor or whatever they're called, so I could have them test me. I finally got to the instructor, and they looked at the car and said I couldn't do the test because of the crack in the windshield. The lady had a really rude tone, and I wanted to yell at her even though I understood, but nonetheless, I restrained myself and called my dad to tell him the bad news. I waited for him in the car, and as he walked up to me, I started to cry because I couldn't take the test, which was sad. After this, I was going to hang out with my friends that day, and I was hoping that I could tell them that I passed, but I instantly got denied because of a crack. I cried so much that my dad had to pull over at a QT and get me napkins because I had used all the ones in your car, Denise :(. My day was left a bit gloomy, but I had fun with my friends, and I eventually got to take the test the first week back at school. Denise, Mom, and Dad were all there, and when I passed, we met Yesenia at the Texas Roadhouse near Metro Center to celebrate. This was on January 10th, 2024. Later on, a funny/not-so-funny incident happened at work that I think deserves a mention. I was working a closing shift, and the restaurant was going to close for the night, but we still had one family left in the dining room who were finishing up eating. At this time, we had the male employees carry a full aerator of lemonade so we could drain it in a place where the customers couldn't see. Unfortunately, as one of the employees was doing this, the family was leaving and the employee lost his grip and it spilled it ALLLL OVERRR them!!!! They had a family member who, I assume, was on the autism spectrum, and it mainly got all over him. This was a very intense situation, and I didn't think it was funny at all when it happened, but looking back at it, it kinda was just because of how embarrassed my co-worker who spilled it got. Other than that, the month went by pretty smoothly.
FEBRUARY 2024
This month was only kind of interesting. I got an Apple Watch, and I picked up Maribel from her first job ever!!! I don't remember what we did, but I am pretty sure we just ate and went to Target. Oh, I am also in my second semester of Freshman Year at ASU at this time, and school is going pretty good. That was my February.
MARCH 2024
Wow!!! So all I can really say for this month is that I watched the show One Day for the first time, and it ruined me. I have never cried so much in my life from watching a show as when I watched this. I think I cried for like 30 minutes and used a whole tissue box to clean my nose. That show stabbed my heart. Ummm, what else...OH, I saw an old middle school classmate of mine when I was working in the drive thru and on one of my many school days, I had gone to Subway as I usually do, and the worker called told me "you're very pretty by the way" and I felt embarrassed, nervous, and awkward. That was my March!
APRIL 2024
I GOT A CAR!!!!!! That's it... I got a car.
MAY 2024
I had this weird reaction in my eye this month, and I called out of work because of it, and it was kind of awkward just because I kept giving more details than I needed to, lol. Oh, I also got my license plate this month. I also hung out with my friends and with Maribel a lot this summer, like a lot!
JUNE 2024
My mom, dad, and I went to Rocky Point for a few days, and it was fun, but it would have been better if YOU, Denise, went and if Senia went too. I made a video of our trip, and I'll include it below. Anyways, we also apparently went to Rocky Springs this month to get pies, according to my Snapchat memories. I also hung out with Maribel some more in my BRAND NEW CAR!!!!
JULY 2024
"I am NOT throwing away my shot!!!!" to see HAMILTON!!!! That's right, I saw Hamilton on Broadway. Just kidding, not on Broadway, but at the ASU Gammage theatre. My friends and I went to see the show, and it was amazing. I would love to see it again. But other than that, all I did was work, eat lots of ATL wings, and again hang out with Maribel.
AUGUST 2024
Huhhhh...I know I said I would finish this post today, but I still have 9 MONTHS to get to!!!!! I ain't no pregnant lady and I am not gonna do all that tonight. This will be my last catch-up for the night, and then I'll come back tomorrow to finish it up. This is mine and Senia's birthday month, and we turned 19 and 29 this month!!!! Also, Senia started living with us around this time. I don't know what else to say about this month besides that I worked, started my sophomore year, and ate a lot of Uber Eats. Oh wait... I have to mention that this is when I developed my celebrity crush on Milo Manheim, AUHHHHH!!! I will insert a photo of him, and then I will continue this tomorrow, okay, bye!
Thursday, May 15th, 2025 12:33PM
Well, it's a brand new day and I have lit my wood-wick candle, turned on my candle warmer, and my twinkle lights. The song "Ribs" by Lorde is a song I discovered because of TikTok, but it came out around the time she released "Royals," and I never listened to Lorde on the regular, the only time I listened to any of her other songs was through the GTA 5 radio as it had her song "Tennis Court." Anyways, this song "Ribs" is the perfect song to listen to when you are in a car and want to stare outside the window.
SEPTEMBER 2024
This is Denise's birthday month, and she turned 26 this year! We went to a Chinese buffet for Denise's birthday dinner, and then we went to the park afterwards. That's pretty much the entire month, even though that happened at the end of the month. Obviously, other stuff happened, but it's not worth writing down.
OCTOBER 2024
Spooky month is upon us! I love Halloween and all things fall. I had fall break and felt like I really needed the time off from school because I felt burned out from the last two months. Luckily, the fam and I went on a little trip to Bearizona, and we got to see a bunch of animals in the perfect setting/weather for spooky season. I really enjoyed that trip; it was so cozy and cute. I also got a pumpkin stacked thing that was meant for inscents, and it stained my turntable, so yeah. A fun little tidbit I would like to mention is that Mom, Dad, Denise, and I went to the farm near our neighborhood for the first time in 4 years that we lived here, and Denise and I waited in line for the haunted maze for OVER AN HOUR!!!!! That was fun and insane, but I've waited longer in a line to get a Harry Styles shirt that I could have just bought online, but I thought that I would somehow have someone come up to me and offer me free tickets. Anywho, we finally got into the maze, and Denise instantly wanted to back out after waiting for an hour in line. Denise, are you cuckoo bananas? I eventually kept dragging her along with me, and she was VERY scared and so was I, but I tried to make it funny or else I would have peed myself. We tried to get through it quickly by running and walking fast, and eventually caught up with the people in front of us who were slow pokes. They were kind of rude because we were right behind them, but I don't understand why they were walking so slow, like come on, this maze is scary and we are all trying to get out of here, so move your booties, beaches. This all happened before Halloween, so a few days later I got my ballot in the mail and I voted for the first time, and of course I voted for Kamala Harris! A few days later, it was Maribel's birthday, and she turned 21!!! Isn't that so cool? My mom and I went over to their townhouse, and we made Maribel take a shot to celebrate her legal drinking age. I have a video in my snaps of this. Maribel's birthday is on the 30th or All Hallows Eve, so the next day was Halloween!!!!!! Mwuahhhh!!!! Twenty was dressed as a pumpkin wizard, and I was dressed as this weird-looking zombie thing because my dad had this mask that came with hands, and I wore that and terrorized the neighborhood. I swear, every Halloween at this house keeps getting better and better. I actually scared so many people and chased them, it was sooooooo funnn!!! I scared this girl so bad that I chased her to our neighbor's house, and when I was walking back, one of her guy friends gave my weird zombie hand a high five and said "good job neighbor!" This was definitely my favorite Halloween here so far. Ohhhh...I can't forget when trick or treating was over, Denise and I went to go get the mail, and we saw one of our neighbors who always comes over to our house to scare us, carrying a ladder to the dead end that blocks off our neighborhood with the farm and he climbed over the wall. Now that was truly scary because he was still in his costume and was moving like a monster in a horror movie.
NOVEMBER 2024
I don't know how November is going to top October because so much happened last month, and it was all so fun and spooky. But honestly, the scariest thing did happen in November...I popped my tire. I was on my way home from my only class I had that day, and I ran over a nail and got a flat tire, and might I add, this was the very first day of the month, and this happened to me. I haven't even had my car for a full year at this point. It was okay, though, because I did the right thing and I pulled over into this neighborhood and called my mom to tell her what happened, and as soon as I did, this nice man came over and helped me. I don't know his name, all I know is he was on his way to babysit his nieces or nephews in the neighborhood and decided to help me out. That was definitely a new experience for me. Fast forward a few days, and it is now election day, and...yeah, it did not go as I hoped it would. Kamala Harris lost and stinky cheeto man won. I had an accounting exam the same day the results were coming in, and as soon as I got home, I looked at what the results were at the moment, and he was in the lead, and he continued to stay in the lead. I had hope still that she could get enough electoral votes, but as I looked at how many states were still counting and how many electoral votes they had, I realized even if they all voted for her, she still wouldn't win. Once I figured this out, I started to cry. It made me so sad and mad that so many people didn't vote for her solely because she is a woman. It is even more heartbreaking to see the second woman who ran for president lose to him. I don't really want to talk about this topic anymore, so we'll just move on. Okay, on the upside, I got bangs this month, wow! I also bought a bunch of cute decor to decorate my room for Christmas. AND, Wicked came out this month, and my mom and I loved it. Oh, also, it was Thanksgiving. UHHHHH....I forgot to mention that I started training to learn how to do taxes, so yeah.
DECEMBER 2024
Finals week has arrived, and I had 4 finals in that week, and it was a struggle, but I got through it and passed all my classes with A's. Winter Break!!!! I got a whole month off from school as usual, and I loved it. We got our last real Christmas tree this year, and my mom bought a fake one a few months later because buying a real one every year is expensive. "CHESTNUTS ROASTING ON AN OPEN FIRE." Sorry, I just had to put that in here because I love that Christmas song. Fast forward to Christmas, I got a LEGO Dobby set and it was so much fun to build. I, of course, watched all the Harry Potter movies while making it. It was really relaxing building it, and I NEED to build another LEGO set. On Christmas day, Denise, Mom, and I went to a Chinese buffet because they are the only place open, duh! "NEW YORK, NEW YORK!!!!" Well, I think it is now obvious that I am going to talk about New Year's Eve now. My mom had this wonderful idea of putting balloons in this plastic tablecloth that we would then yank a string from, and they would fall on us very graciously. That is, in fact, what we did, except they did not fall graciously, and instead, they didn't fall at all. Senia and I had to shake them out of the folded tablecloth we stuffed them into. Besides that, we entered the New Year on a pretty good note with Twenty's barking.
JANUARY 2025
It's a brand new year, and the year I am currently in. 2025 has been crazy with our new president and all, eww. I started the year by hanging out with my friends. We ate, went to the science center, and did an escape room. Sounds fun, right? It was. I also ordered a whole new set for my bed and just made my room 100x better. I continued to work and started my second semester of Sophomore year, and had a lot more classes with my friend Emma. Oh, I also got Twenty his own bed in my room for Christmas, which he is currently in right now. I would also like to mention that I finished reading this book, What Happened to Goodbye, by Sarah Dessen, because I started it in the summer of 2024, and it took me a long time to finish it, but I did, so yay me. This month, I attended a bunch of little events because I volunteered to do people's taxes. I also ordered my iPad this month, ohhhhhh.....
FEBRUARY 2025
I started my tax volunteering officially, and I was scheduled to volunteer in Avondale and I went there for one day, and then spent the rest of my Saturdays at ASU West until April, when tax season ended. I did this voulnteering thing to see if I wanted to go into tax accounting and I'm unclear if I want to because it didn't seem hard, like at all, but it just makes me think that isn't the securist job then if it is so easy, but the taxes I did do were the easier kind, some people have more difficult ones so I don't know, but all I know is I am not volunteering there again, it was boring just waiting for people. The rest of the month went by pretty smoothily, and I ended up buying this gel set for my nails, and I really like it. Oh, and I also found out one of my co-workers makes music, and I listened to all his songs, and it was good, but just not my kind of music. His artist name is RXSE VANI in case I ever want to listen to his songs in the future. That was pretty much this month.
MARCH 2025
This is Twenty's birthday month, and he turned 13 years old, but it also marks his 11th year with us. My mom and I took Mr. Boy to the doggy park and got him some good food. Other than his birthday, I just had school, work, and volunteering to worry about. I guess I can mention that Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco released their collaborative album "I Said I Loved You First." I really liked this album, especially the song "Sunset Blvd." It's a great song. Oh, I forgot to say that Mom bought birthday hats for all of us to wear for Twenty's birthday, including Twenty himself. It was so cute.
APRIL 2025
UMMM... I don't think much happened this month besides me cramming for finals. That's all this month was, just school, finishing my volunteering, and working.
MAY 2025
Ahhhhh, we have reached the current month I am in. I had my last final exam a week ago and I am on summer break, whoppi!!!! Although that's great and all, it's kind of boring, so I am going to mention the most interesting thing that has happened all month. My Tia Jessica bought a house, and it's in Tonopah, Arizona. I had no idea that place even existed until a month ago. After I finished my last exam, I spent a night there, and we celebrated Mother's Day as well. It is a really nice house, and although I'm sad that they are so far now, I'm glad they have enough rooms. They still have the Townhouse for the rest of this month and are still in the process of moving, so when I spent the night, the house was still pretty empty, and I slept on Maribel's air mattress. Soon Anna is going to promote from 8th grade to high school, and we will attend the ceremony on the 21st. For now, I am just enjoying my time off from school and I guess work since I didn't work all week, but I do work tomorrow. Densie and I are going to start up our sister book club again and look for a new book this Saturday. My plan this summer is to be productive, hang out with my friends more, and try to be healthy. Oh, and I do want to update my blog more often so I don't have to do these long posts anymore, this took me like 2 years to write, ughhh! I don't know what I'm going to do for the rest of the day, but I hope you are happy after reading this Denise, because you are my number one fan and I am yours, toodles!
Thursday, May 15th, 2025 2:36PM
*P.S. / Update: Denise just said she wants to do our sister book club search for a new book TODAY!!!! Yay, so I gotta upload this before we leave. Don't tell her, it's a secret.
This is probably one of, if not, your longest entries so far! I hope you can continue with more frequent posts! I would have loved some pictures from the events that you said took place like, for example, the picture you took from when you saw Hamilton. You missed your shot there! LOLZ XDDD
